We are currently still sorting through the collection, but will be adding the plants to this section as they become available. Despite the help of her friend Bob Taylor, with failing health, she reluctantly decided it was time to retire.Val had been growing primulas for over 30 years and wonderfully it all started with a few packets of Barnhaven seeds, sent from the nursery which was then in Cumbria! It felt fitting for everyone that her beloved collection should be passed on to the nursery that inspired her to grow her first primroses. Also called: bears-ear a widely cultivated alpine primrose, Primula auricula, with leaves shaped like a bears ear another word for auricle (def. its a game I went through all in one sitting which was slightly over an hour. the combat is really nice but took some time to really get it all together. This is a fantastic effort that was well and truly worth the wait, and deserves the full attention of action platform fans young and old. This was a nice gem. This is the first game that Zenovia have released commercially – what a way to enter the stage. There is a very real reason why the myriad titles I have spouted off about in this review are regarded as classics – and that is because of their taut design, unforgettable atmosphere and perfectly measured gameplay. I have played a tonne of modern, retro-inspired fare that find this kind of delicate balance very difficult. It looks and sounds incredible, with a panache that could probably not actually be squeezed out of 16-bit hardware, but completely retains the feel of that era. There are bosses, mini bosses, into-the-screen perspective bosses, and standard enemies that feel like they could be bosses in other games. One minute you will be traversing the beautifully hand-drawn post-apocalyptic city on foot, the next you are riding a tooled-up speedboat, or hanging off the fuselage of a crazed flying contraption. And it does get hectic, right from the off, as you are swarmed by enemies and forced into a death defying climb upwards with an instant death chasm beneath. That it does so whilst being entirely fair and beatable with practice, regardless of difficulty level, is an admirable feat. Much like the legendarily brilliant genre pieces constructed by Treasure, or the almost cinematic way Contra III bombards the senses, Steel Assault plays out like a series of increasingly more staggering set pieces and situations and doesn’t let up from the throttle. It’s modern but keeps the feel of the era If I had popped a cartridge containing this into my first SNES I probably would have spent the next week locked in my bedroom in front of my CRT. It feels like you are playing something special. Movement is equally fluid – you can jump, double jump and slide. It works as smooth as silk and becomes second nature within seconds. Added to this rather handy tool is a Bionic Commando-esque grapple which can be aimed at platforms, vehicles and allows you to zipline your way around or dangle precariously in battle. Your hero is equipped with a whip-like melee weapon that can be employed multi-directionally, and comes off like a cross between Simon Belmont’s whip and Strider’s Cypher, and can be upgraded with power ups that add projectiles and all kinds of mayhem to it’s mechanical flail. If you are of a certain vintage age-wise, it takes just a few minutes play to see that Assault draws upon just about any decent title from your youth. This is a resolutely old-school experience that has beautifully designed linear levels, just like days of yore blasting through a Rockman X or Contra game. Raised as I was on the games that clearly inspired it, this long-in-gestation Kickstarter labour of love grabbed me the instant I fired it up, and didn’t let me out of its grip for the next several hours of hardcore run and gun action.ĭeveloper Zenovia have proudly boasted that this is not a Metroidvania, or a roguelike, or anything remotely bowing to modern trends. I won’t beat around the bush – as far as future-retro modern titles go, Steel Assault is an absolute banger.
The Outer Worlds 2 is also entirely possible, but since the first game was published by Take Two's Private Division label, it may not debut during this show. It could reappear, along with an update trailer for Obsidian's Grounded and even Josh Sawyer's project, whatever that may be. Last year one of Microsoft's big debuts was a cinematic trailer for Avowed, a new first-person RPG. If the PC gets some love, Age of Empires 4 will be front and center. Sea of Thieves seems a likely candidate for a short trailer about a new update, as the game is now in its third year and still popular. Psychonauts 2 is definitely coming out this year, and Tim Schafer will probably pop in to give us a surprisingly imminent release date (but if you've read this far, the joke's on Tim: You won't be surprised!). Our colleagues at Windows Central expect Microsoft to reveal Forza Horizon 5 is coming out this year. Irresistible symmetry.īut what else is Microsoft going to show? It has so many games in development now. It'll close out with a final release date announcement-November 15, probably, because that's the 20 year anniversary of Halo: Combat Evolved. I think the majority of Infinite's screen time will actually be devoted to a first look at its multiplayer mode, which Microsoft has said will be free-to-play. I expect a beefy Halo Infinite presentation this year, with a few minutes dedicated to showing off graphical improvements since the previous demo-someone, likely Joseph Staten, will say the words "community," "feedback," and "we listened" while showing off some oooh-worthy HDR lighting. Hopefully things go better this time: the reception to last year's reveal was so poor, Infinite was delayed a year and is now arriving this fall. Halo Infinite was a big part of Microsoft's E3 show last year. Or another game from Arkane, which is definitely working on another game in addition to Deathloop. Like a new Wolfenstein, if MachineGames is developing multiple projects. The Elder Scrolls 6 is still years awayīethesda could certainly pull out a surprise. The Indiana Jones game teased earlier this year just started development, and is likely too early to show.Ghostwire: Tokyo has so far only been shown as a PlayStation console exclusive, not a prime candidate for the big Xbox stage.Deathloop is well-known at this point, and will probably show up in a montage but not as a showpiece game.We should find out at this event.īethesda certainly has other games in development, but we might not see many of them at this showcase for different reasons: Maybe it's almost ready-or maybe it's not out until 2022. All we've seen of Starfield is a 2018 teaser trailer. If Bethesda is treating this reveal the same way it did Fallout 4, Starfield could be out this year-Fallout 4 was revealed in June 2015 and released in November that same year. We don't know much about Starfield yet, other than the fact that it's Bethesda's next big RPG, and it's set in space. “But we thought we could take advantage of the opportunity to partner with awesome big game companies that might not be ready to fully license their games yet, but want to make more money in this space and want to understand how profitable Africa can be for them.” “participation Our big initiative this year is because we’ve built all this cool technology around payments and digital commerce, and we’ve only used it for our games,” commented the CEO, who along with Lucy Hoffman and Tinotenda Mundangepfupfu from Carry1st established. Pay1st is an embedded finance platform that helps startups generate revenue from both categories: proprietary games and third-party games, of which Riot Games is one of its customers. While the company still makes its own games or has recently begun to acquire games to improve, relaunch and publish on a larger scale (Mine Rescue and Gabeta), Carry1st also exclusively produces third-party games. When Carry1st launched in 2018, it was a game studio that conceptualized, developed and launched mobile games (starting with Carry1st Trivia). The partnership leverages Pay1st, the gaming startup’s monetization-as-a-service platform used for the company’s games and third-party publishers, Robin-Coker said on the call. In other words, Carry1st will act as Riot’s payment partner in Africa. Sometime last year, Carry1st and Riot Games cemented that investment by signing a partnership where the South African organization agreed to local payments for the American video game developer starting in 2023. Last January, Carry1st announced a $20 million Series A extension round, followed by another $6 million raised in May 2021 from multiple investors, including Riot Games, the developer of the most played PC game globally, League of Legends, and Publishers included. And so this adds even more resources, perspective and support to help us achieve our goals,” said Cordell Robin, Chief Executive Officer -Coker told TechCrunch in an interview. “We now have three of the best funds in our minds that focus on gaming and Web3. Both A16z and Konvoy participated in this funding round, which also included TTV Capital, Alumni Ventures, Lateral Capital and Kepple Ventures. But more impressive is its backing from top-tier funds focused on Web3 and gaming: Andreessen Horowitz (a16z), Convoy Ventures – and now BitCraft Ventures, the lead investor in its newly announced $27 million Pre-Series B round. Since launching in 2018, Carry1st, a publisher of social games and interactive content across Africa, has raised funding from investors such as Google through its Africa Investment Fund and Avenir Growth Capital. And as gamers in sub-Saharan Africa are set to grow to more than 180 million over the next five years, startups like South Africa-based Carry1st are strategically positioning themselves for this gradual growth phase in the industry, according to a report. In the coming decades, Africa will be an important growth market for mobile games, driven by the spread of technology adoption among the continent’s young population. African gaming startup Carry1st raises $27M from Bitcraft Ventures and A16Z I am also the only one to make a point in this thread. It would be a lie to say Xonotic font is an improvement. Compare it it with Nexuiz HUD numeric font: soft shadows instead of wide borders, properly shaped characters and a nice-looking texture. Ugly black borders and awkward thin shape of characters are enough to make it look bad and out of place. Default settings should be suitable for everyone and if you don't like it - edit it. However, we can't expect that every Xonotic player is HC-gamer or geek who wants to configure everything. One of the best things on Xonotic is that you can configure almost everything if you don't like default settings. I am very happy that this hasn't happened yet and hope this will stay that way.Īnd IMO default settings should be suitable for the basic player, which usually pays attention to the graphics etc. I sense a strong urge to get flamed at in your posts as they are so full of strong negative words. As for the other things they should be configurable, or am I wrong? I don't know if the fonts can be replaced client-side easily, but honestly I don't think the font can be perceived as so terrible that it ruins the entire HUD. I have yet to see where the teamhud (or whatever the area where CTF flags and such are placed is called) is so I can bitch about it too. The radar/minimap is a huge waste of space, and console notifications which it would get covered by will make it even less useful. Also positions of the timer and scores are very awkward, why are they so off the top? It looks weird and distracting. Oh wait no, I'd rather just look at colors I guess, the font is eyecancer. Two horribly blurred interlaced rectangles that look completely unrealated to the rest of the HUD serve as health bars? No thanks, I'd rather read numbers and look at colors. I'm complaining about the way the bars are done, not about the concept of having them in general. Clearly a bug was introduced in the new firmware. I wish they would just ask engineering why version 3.0 firmware works and 3.1 firmware doesn't. The AEL tracking sensitivity doesn't affect this bug in the least. Unfortunately, Sony's response is worthless. You can use the plugin on up to 3 different computers.- thanks for trying. How many machines can I have this installed on? Lightroom 6.0 and up, which includes Lightroom CC. What Lightroom versions does it work with? I wrote this to simplify support for postprocessing in Lightroom so that there would be a quick and easy solution that gets great results for the common use-cases rather than a comprehensive application for every situation - for that I would recommend LRTimelapse. Also, unlike this plugin, LRTimelapse supports Bridge/ACR workflows as well. No, it does not replace LRTimelapse it does not render or do visual deflickering, but it does have a bit of overlap. I try to avoid direct comparisons, but this one comes up a lot. Sequence is also nice simple Mac program that can be used for rendering the exported images. LRTimelapse also has good integration with Lightroom for rendering and more. If you're using After Effects or Motion, the image sequence can be loaded into them directly. No, you'll need to export the image sequence from Lightroom and render it with another program outside Lightroom. For true deflickering, try TLDF, GBDeflicker, LRTimelapse, or Sequence. It does not analyze images for luminance changes, and therefore cannot correct flicker caused by something such as aperture variation, and there are no immediate plans to add this. This method is purely based on metadata which allows it to be very fast. Technically no, but it does smooth in-camera exposure changes to eliminate flicker from that source, so for exposure ramping intervalometers with a low or locked aperture, this should be all that is needed. This all applies to any local adjustments as well, such as brushes, masks and cloning. If gradients are added in a middle keyframe, it will be faded in automatically from the prior keyframe. Yes! There are no limits on gradients - settings on a gradient can be faded across keyframes, the gradient position/rotation can be animated, and there can be any number of gradients. Note that the account must have a VIEW device paired with it to validate the plugin (see Information -> Registration & App on the VIEW for instructions). The first login will validate and register the plugin. Just download and install the plugin and on first use you'll be prompted to login with the same email and password from your account. How do Timelapse+ VIEW Intervalometer users register the plugin? If you haven't done time-lapse processing in Lightroom before, I recommend downloading the trial of both Lightroom and this plugin and checking it out. No, it's specifically a Lightroom plugin and requires a current version of Lightroom. After that, it will fully function without an internet connection.ĭoes this work with Adobe Bridge / ACR / Photoshop? Is an internet connection required to use it? Yes, when first using the plugin you'll be prompted to start a free 7-day trial. On the other hand, if you're doing any kind of day-to-night or night-to-day, whether manually, bulb ramping, exposure ramping, etc, this plugin becomes essential for blending changes in white balance or exposure across a series of frames.ĭoes the plugin have a free trial period? Still, even in those scenarios, this plugin can be used for creative animation such as the Ken Burns effect, as well as just using the group feature to quickly organize your photos by time-lapse. Well, if you're only doing short time-lapse clips that are during the day or the night, but not sunsets, sunrises or any other changing light conditions you might not absolutely need it. You can find the instructions for installation, registration, and other information for STUDIO here You're even able to change the exposure on keyframes! You can skip dealing with the XMPs and let the plugin handle the smoothing. No external metadata or additional steps are needed for smooth holy-grail processing. So it works with exposure rampers like the Timelapse+ VIEW, RamperPro, DSLRDashboard, and even a basic intervalometer. A plan to finance the delivery of Kickstarter rewards with new sales – a plan that is usually looked down upon by Kickstarter backers – was impossible, as cost and time required of certifying the laser in the Peachy Printer would have put the company in the red. In March of 2015, one of ’s family members loaned $50,000 to Peachy Printer. Peachy Printer received two government grants totalling $90,000 and $135,000. With no funds to complete the development of the Peachy Printer, looked into alternative means of keeping the company afloat until Kickstarter rewards had shipped. In just over three months, all the Kickstarter funds, save for $200,000 transferred into the Peachy Printer corporate account, were spent by. Thirty days after the funds were received, had spent over $165,000. The Kickstarter campaign was set up to deliver the funds received – $587,435.73 – directly into ’s account. In the update published to the Kickstarter campaign, the reason for the failure of Peachy Printer to deliver becomes apparent. Either didn’t have the engineering chops to take a novel device to market, there were problems with suppliers, or just couldn’t get the product out the door. For the last year, the Peachy Printer appeared to be just another failed crowdfunded 3D printer. Whispers of the Peachy Printer circled around 3D printer forums, with very little information coming from. Even today, nearly three years after the launch of the Kickstarter campaign, there’s nothing like it on the market.įor the last two years, appeared to have the Peachy Printer in a pseudo-stealth mode. It wasn’t a high-resolution printer, but it was a 3D resin printer that only cost $100. In our first coverage of the Peachy Printer, everyone was agog at how simple this printer was. By slowly dripping salt water into this vat, the level of the resin rose up, allowing the galvanometers and laser diode to print the next layer of a 3D object. Instead of using a stepper motor to raise a print out of a vat of resin, the Peachy Printer floated the resin on a vat of salt water. Unlike other stereolithographic printers like the Form 1 and DLP projector kit printers, the Peachy was cheap. When the Peachy Printer was announced on Kickstarter, it was, by any measure, a game changing product.
